Welcome at the website of Faculty Association Magister JFT. Magister JFT is the association for all students of Tilburg Law School at Tilburg University. With over 2300 members, Magister JFT covers over 90% of all students at Tilburg Law School. As a Faculty Association we aim to bring surplus value to our members. We try to achieve this by organising all kind of activities and offering study supporting services.

This website provides a lot of information about our association, but as you can see it is 95% in Dutch. On the other hand Magister JFT acknowledges that English is getting more important every day. The number of exchange or degree seeking students that come to visit Tilburg is rising every year and so is the number of dutch students who go abroad to explore their skills.

What can we offer international students?

Magister JFT consists out of several 'kamers'  which best can be seen as departments. Most of these departments organise dutch activities, but since several years E-Law (department of Law & Technology) organises various English activities for dutch and international students. Recently the departments InterAct (department of International and European Law) and Vrijspraak (studentparty) began to organise activities for international students as wel. For example the Dutch quiz, the international evening and in March InterAct will pay a visit to the Hague. 

We plan to expand our english activities in the near future to answer to the growing number of international students. Upcoming activities

 Day to The Hague
Wednesday March 17th 2010 InterAct will be visiting the international city of the Netherlands: The Hague! In the morning a visit to the International Criminal Court (ICC) will be made, and with any luck we might be attending a hearing there too.In the afternoon, we will visit the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees),
It will be a wonderful day to explore all The Hague has got to offer, and hopefully ended with dinner down town.

Visit to Lawton law firm
E-Law will pay a visit to Lawton law firm on 6 April. This young specialist law firm is located in Breda and Rotterdam. We will visit Breda and more specific the Intellectual Property, Media and ICT section. This practice group works closely with Lawton Trademarks BV; Lawton’s in-house trademark office. The visit will include a lecture on Intellectual Property and a discussion on a case. Of course, drinks in Breda are included afterwards!
