Magister JFT | Juribes
Magister JFT | Juribes is the Chamber for all Public Administration and Public Governance students at Tilburg Law School. This Chamber forms the link between the students and the university. Moreover, the Chamber organizes both formal and informal activities, which are approached from different angles, such as the field, society and the study itself.
This is mainly facilitated by committee members who, together with the board members, form an active constituency within Magister JFT.
It has been almost 37 years since study association Juribes - the Chamber for Public Administration and Public Governance - was founded on 7 March 1985. By means of a study association, the students could better represent their interests and moreover, there was a greater need for an association for Juridical Public Administration students, so that they could organise and attend both formal and informal activities. The name 'Juribes' is taken from the name of the study programme Juridische Bestuurkunde. In the meantime, the name of the programme has been changed to Public Administration and the English-language study Public Governance also falls under the Chamber. In 2002-2003 the De Ridder Committee published its report, which contained a proposal to merge all the small study associations that existed at Tilburg Law School into one large study association. The founding of Magister JFT led to the administrative law association being regarded as the Chamber of Magister JFT from then on.
